When the British Postal Agencies in China were closed gratuities based on length of Service were paid to certain employees.
The proportion of such gratuities due in respect of service prior to 1911 when the agencies were transferred from Hong Kong to the Imperial Government was then paid from Hong Kong Funds.
When the other agencies were closed the agency at Wei Hai Wei remained. This has now been closed and it is proposed that similar pay- ments should be made in this case also.
The Imperial Government has agreed to the payment of $1,810.72 and a vote is now asked to cover the payment of Hong Kong's share amounting to $538.47.
